Design & Facilitation
by Simon Rowe
I facilitate rhythm-led workshops that help teams collaborate with more clarity, trust, and sustainable energy—by making the “cadence” of teamwork tangible.
With over 20 years immersed in drumming practice and extensive facilitation experience, my work blends rhythm traditions with practical learning design. The room becomes a safe laboratory: groups can see how leadership emerges, how communication patterns form, and how to recover quickly when things go off-beat.

Learning that’s fun as it is transformative
Rooted in traditional culture, informed by modern psychology
-
Rhythm makes group dynamics visible and real
-
Method grounded in proven team development models
-
Learn by feeling, not just thinking
Practical
-
Ideas stick, because they’re embodied
-
Equips participants with tools they can use immediately
-
Sparks lasting shifts in how teams relate and perform
Inclusive, accessible and energising
-
For introverts and extroverts alike, it’s an active, inclusive experience
-
Sound can bypass overthinking and ignite authentic presence
-
No prior musical experience is required
-
Stages of Group Development: by using rhythm-based activities that culminate in a shared peak experience of deep focus and energised collaboration, we explore how teams evolve from forming to performing, and the challenges at each stage
Dysfunctions of a Team: rhythm offers an embodied way to align goals and build vulnerability-based trust, the foundation of cohesive teams
Team Effectiveness: teams experience the five key enablers of success in an energised way that makes high performance tangible and lasting
Systems Thinking & Active Listening: A drum circle is a living model of an organisation as a system. Success requires only responsiveness to others
Psychological Safety: We create a welcoming space where all can feel comfortable to experiment and contribute freely

The session was highly praised for its innovative approach and a refreshing alternative to conventional leadership coursework and left participants feeling inspired.-
"Most interesting lecture. Time flew very fast. They taught us how to work together. Move together as a
group to deliver one rhythm or note. Well done lecturers"

"The drumming session was honestly great fun. I’d definitely do it again—it was really easy to get into, even with no experience. The teacher was brilliant and made everyone feel comfortable straight away. It ended up feeling really powerful playing together, and it created a great group vibe. I was also a bit surprised at how quickly we picked it up. Overall, a really fun and energising experience."

"Simon ran an away day workshop for staff members across several trusts, he listened to the overall brief and catered the offering accordingly. He provided space for individuals across several organisations to get together and enjoy an afternoon doing something several of them had never tried before. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and I would highly recommend Simon's drumming workshop as an fun and distinct experience for small and large teams alike."
Vanessa Lye - Assistant Trust Executive,

“I really enjoyed the drumming session at our staff away day that I was genuinely disappointed when the class ended. What stood out most was the energy in the room - it created a real sense of connection and engagement across the group with everyone fully present and clearly enjoying themselves. There was something special about communicating together without the use of words. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding experience, I would absolutely do it again and would love the chance to continue developing my skills.”

Questions?
Absolutely not! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners.
We need a room large enough for everyone to sit in a circle with a chair. We can adapt to boardrooms, conference halls or even outdoor spaces (weather permitting).
We provide a range of percussion instruments, not just drums. We will manage the volume to a comfortable and energetic level.
We create a safe and inclusive environment where even the most reserved feel comfortable participating at their own pace.
